Hotels in Harbour City report bookings up eighteen per cent on last year for the coming festival season, helped by new direct flights from three European cities.
The tourism office said visitors are staying longer and spending more in local restaurants and shops.
The bank that is financing part of the investment said it expects demand for similar projects to grow across the coast.
Consumers should see the first effects within a year, according to the company, which promised to keep prices stable.
