Neighbouring states reopen border crossing closed for a decade

Two neighbouring states have reopened a mountain border crossing that was closed ten years ago, allowing families on both sides to visit each other again.

Hundreds of people waited at the crossing on the first morning. Officials said trade in farm goods would resume next month.

Observers said the agreement could serve as a model for other regions, although much will depend on how quickly the promised funding arrives.

Diplomats described the talks as long but constructive. A follow-up meeting is planned for next year to review progress.
